The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) reaffirmed the critical need for greater collaboration between government agencies to properly address aviation safety concerns stemming from the rollout of new 5G wireless telecommunications networks.

NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen welcomed the decision by telecommunications providers AT&T and Verizon to temporarily delay transmitter deployments near certain airports in response to continued aviation industry concerns about potential 5G interference to radar altimeters.

NBAA joins a coalition of organizations calling for a delay to the deployment of 5G technologies to the C-band until the safety of the National Airspace System (NAS) is ensured.
