Support CAN’s Critical Flights: ‘Fund an Angel’ Event Returns to NBAA-BACE

To support its mission of arranging free business aircraft flights for cancer patients seeking treatment, Corporate Angel Network (CAN) is hosting its annual “Fund an Angel” fundraiser at the 2025 National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE).

The event is set for 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on the Waterbleau Terrace. NBAA-BACE attendees are invited to join industry colleagues for an evening of networking, refreshments and a silent auction, all while raising funds and awareness for CAN’s mission. This year’s event features a new emcee: actor, writer, host and auctioneer Christopher Hanke.

“Fund an Angel plays a vital role in allowing us to do what we do best — connect cancer patients with the treatment they need, when they need it most,” said Robert Stangarone, president and CEO of Corporate Angel Network. “NBAA’s continued support, and the generosity of the business aviation community, make each mission possible. This event is a powerful reminder of how our industry can come together to save lives.”

CAN is seeking donations for its silent auction – either a unique item or an experience.

Last year’s event raised nearly $500,000 through sponsorships, individual donations and the silent auction. Auction items included an E-Z-GO Liberty golf cart, aircraft models, aviation artwork, airline miles, an Indy 500 day at the races experience, D2 Mach 1 aviator smartwatch, vacation packages and more.

The organization completed more than 1,700 cancer patient flights in 2024, matching patients needing transportation to or from treatment with available seats aboard business jets. They were among the more than 69,000 flights that the organization has arranged since it was founded in 1981. CAN works with companies of all sizes, including half of the Fortune 100 companies, to fulfill its mission.

“Business aviation is an industry committed to giving back and supporting those in need,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “The ‘Fund an Angel’ event, together with Corporate Angel Network’s long-standing mission of arranging free humanitarian flights for cancer patients, exemplifies these values in action. NBAA is proud to once again support this vital organization and its lifesaving work.”
