Snowbirds Escape, KCAC Celebrates and the 80s Are Back

Another blast from the past, along with an anniversary to celebrate: Kansas City Aviation Center (KCAC Aviation) opened its doors in 1966 as a Piper Aircraft dealer. In the six decades since, it has grown into a full-service FBO offering aircraft maintenance, charter operator specializing in PC-12 aircraft, and management services, in addition to aircraft handling. KCAC has been under the same ownership for the past 34 years and appeared on the cover of The Air Charter Guide Winter Edition of 1992-93.
Past publisher Fred Gevalt remarks in the Foreword: “Historically a formidable entity in the maintenance and refurbishment markets...KC can now offer incremental or contracted charter to its customers, as part of its unique blend of corporate transportation and heavy maintenance...The desire to maintain a crisp service relationship is intuitive enough if you understand the history of KC’s evolution and the mix of its current business.”

Escaping the blizzard of 2026 and reporting back from the sunny state of Florida for the Opa-Locka Regional were Michele, Jodi and Sara last week. They had a busy day at the booth and enjoyed the 5th Annual Stevens Aviation Happy Hour at Miami’s fabulous Rosa Sky Rooftop Bar with Josh Boyles and Carrie Conway of Techjet, and Cristine Kirk of Malone AirCharter. Next up is S&D in Cleveland. Our marketing team has put together some very special treats and surprises for you this year to celebrate our 40th anniversary.
