NBAA Welcomes Bipartisan Senate Committee Letter Opposing Privatized ATC

National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) President and CEO Ed Bolen welcomed a bipartisan letter from Senate Appropriations Committee leaders opposing plans for creating a privatized air traffic control (ATC) system.

The letter was sent Feb. 28 to Sen. Commerce Committee Chairman John Thune (R-SD) and Ranking Member Bill Nelson (D-FL), and signed by Appropriations Committee Chairman Thad Cochran (R-MS), and Vice Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-VT), as well as Subcommittee Chairman Susan Collins (R-ME) and Ranking Member Jack Reed (D-RI).

Jet Aviation in St. Louis Installs Industry's First ATG-8000 High-Speed Internet in an Embraer Lineage

Jet Aviation has completed the first installation of the new ATG-8000 high-speed internet system in an Embraer Lineage at its facility in St. Louis.

“This is the first ATG-8000 ever installed in a Lineage, and it’s a very complex process,” said Blake Hogge, senior manager, Aviation Sales at Jet Aviation at St. Louis. “We had to strip out much of the interior and even take the fuel tanks out of the airplane’s belly. Basically, we had to take the right side of the aircraft apart.”

Global Air Charters, Inc. expands private charter fleet with a Gulfstream business jet

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Global Air Charters, a full-service Part 135-certified aviation charter and management company, has added a Gulfstream business jet to its fleet of aircraft. With a range of 3,600 miles, the Gulfstream is available for domestic and international service.

The Gulfstream has a roomy, tasteful interior—accommodating up to 13 passengers. The aircraft features two sleeping berths in the aft cabin, a full-service galley for serving hot meals and two well-appointed lavatories. Inflight amenities include satellite telephone, internet access as well as an on-board entertainment system.
